I am a part-time tutor, an attorney, a non-profit professional, and a parent of three school-age children. Teaching and helping people to learn are among my passions. I have had a lifelong commitment to education.
My experiences in tutoring include ESOL, SAT, PSAT and LSAT tutoring in group and individual settings. I have very strong English language skills, with a BA and graduate studies in English. I am an accomplished writer and a voracious reader.
My philosophy regarding tutoring is to always be supportive and patient. The progress and pacing of the sessions are directly linked to the student's ability to grasp the material. With children, I also involve the parents in the process as much as possible to ensure that the skills and learning are reinforced.
The measure of my success is the student's increasing comfort level with whatever he or she finds most challenging. Ideally, he or she will become more interested in and intellectually curious about coursework as well. Achievement comes from confidence!
