I am a 28 year-old woman who has just recently returned from teaching English in South Korea for a year. During my time there, I taught children ages 4-14. My style is very patient, encouraging, and dynamic. I try to teach in a variety of styles because everyone learns differently and at a different pace. If a student doesn't understand a concept I believe it's important to approach it differently and not just try to drill it in by doing the same thing over and over again.
Before I moved to Korea, I spent a year living in Melbourne, Australia. There I worked at a volunteer organization known as SAIL (Sudanese Australian Integrated Learning). There I helped many students (elementary through college) with their homework in various subjects such as English, Biology, and Algebra. I am currently volunteering as a youth mentor and tutor for the Bridge Project at the University of Denver.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, specializing in Public Policy Economics. I am also TEFL certified. I currently work for StudyPoint as an academic, SAT, and ACT tutor.
As you can see, I have a lot of international experience and through this I have discovered that I love to teach. I will be applying to get my Masters Degree in Education in the next year.
